Kung pao chicken is a dish well enjoyed by families and even westerners. It is simple and easy and uses the basic condiments found in most Chinese homes and supermarkets. Try our food recipe here:
Ingredients
Around 250g of chicken breasts
3 tbsp raw cashew nuts
5 dried red chilli
5 slices ginger
2 cloves chopped garlic
1) Cut the chicken into cubes and marinade for 30 minutes with
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
1 tbsp corn flour
0.5 tsp salt and a dash of pepper
2) Mix together the sauce containing
1.5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
0.5 tsp Chinese black vinegar
1 tsp cornflour mixed in 3 tbsp water
3) Stir fry the chicken until they turn white. Remove from heat.
4) Fry the garlic, ginger and chilli for 3 minutes in medium heat then add in the chicken for 1 minute. Add in the cashew nuts and sauce and after 3 more minutes, serve with rice.
